With our ‘Boost’ feature, you can now give points in replies not just for Give Recognition but also for any workflow. This allows you to reward people for posting in Assembly, as well as adding additional recognition for amazing things your teammates are doing every day.

Who can use this feature?

  • The boost feature will only appear in flows with permission to use the feature.

  • When enabled, all users who have permission to view the flow can give boosts in replies.

What to expect

  • You can give a boost to anyone in Assembly, even if they do not have access to view the post.

  • Admins can restrict which flows the boost feature is available to using admin permissions, however it will always appear for Give Recognition.

Configure boost permissions

Whatever permission setting is configured, only flows created by people who have that permission will show the option to give boosts in the reply. For example, if the permission is ‘Managers’, any flow that is created by a non-manager or non-admin will not have the option to give a boost in the reply.

  1. Go to the ‘For which flows are users allowed to give points in replies?’ permissions.

  2. Select the desired permission setting.

NOTE: If a flow was created by a person who originally had this permission, but then they lost that permission, their flow will no longer display the option to give boosts. Any boosts previously given will remain, but the boost icon will no longer display.

Giving a Boost

  1. Open the reply drawer by clicking ‘View replies’ or ‘Reply’ on any post or reply card in your Assembly

  2. From the menu at the bottom, select the boost icon (it will show the icon your Assembly uses for points).

  3. Select the person you want to give a boost to.

  4. Add the desired number of points

  5. Click ‘Add boost'

  6. When you post your reply, that person will receive the boost.

NOTE: You can give a boost to someone who does not have permission to view the post, they will receive the amount in their earned balance, but they will not be able to see the post.

Giving a boost to multiple people at the same time

  1. Open the reply drawer by clicking ‘View replies’ or ‘Reply’ on any post or reply card in your Assembly

  2. From the menu at the bottom, select the boost icon (it will show the icon your Assembly uses for points)

  3. If multiple people were mentioned in the original post, and you want to give a boost to all of them, select ‘All # mentioned teammates’; this will add all of those users to the reply at the same time.

  4. Select ‘Apply boost to all tagged people’; this will apply the point value to all mentioned people in the reply; this will also apply that point value to anyone else you mention in the same reply

  5. Click ‘Add boost’.

  6. After clicking ‘Add boost’ you will see points given to all mentioned people in the reply

  7. When you post your reply, the points will be given to all mentioned people.

NOTE: If you mention the same person twice in the same reply after giving them a boost, they will only receive the value once. In the example below, Katya Demo will only receive 5 points, not 10

Editing replies with boosts

  • After a reply is posted, if it contains a boost, you cannot edit the value of the boost given.

  • If you delete a mentioned person from the reply when editing, the point value will remain with them; you will not receive those points back.

Deleting replies with boosts

  • If you delete a reply containing a boost, you will be prompted to choose whether to allow the original recipient(s) to keep the points, or if you would like to return those points to you.

  • If you select return points, the value of the boost will be deducted from the recipient(s) earned balances, and added to your allowance balance.

If you allow the recipient(s) to keep the points, the boost value will remain in their earned balance, but the reply will be deleted along with the boost.
