With our ‘Boost’ feature, you boost recognition, birthday, work anniversary, welcome, and award posts by adding points in replies. This is a great way to show extra appreciation to your employees and teammates!
If enabled in admin, everyone in your organization can boost a reply
With the exception for when your employee is set to the giver or observer role
If disabled in admin, nobody will be able to boost a reply
All previous boosts in replies will be hidden
You can only give a boost if you have points remaining in your giving allowance
Giving a boost will use points from your giving allowance
Receiving a boost will add those points to your earned balance
If your organization’s recognition settings have maximum giving percentages, the same limits will apply to boosting
If your organization’s recognition settings are configured to hide points for recognition, points given via boosts will only display to the giver, the recipient(s), and all admins
If you use our Flows feature, see the related section below for configuring boost permissions for flows
On any recognition, birthday, anniversary, welcome, or award post, click the Boost button in the reply bar
By default, we will preselect all the recipients in the post, to make it super easy to add your extra congratulations
You can delete any boost recipient by clicking the X in the chip
You can add anyone else you like to the boost by clicking the +
icon
Input the # of points you want to give in the boost
Hit Space, Tab or Enter on your keyboard once you’ve entered the points
You can edit the points by clicking the points chip OR by backspacing on your keyboard to edit or remove the point value
Enter a message to go along with your boost (optional)
Click the post button to post your boost
The recipients of your boost will be notified that you gave them a boost
NOTE: You can give a boost to someone who does not have permission to view the post (i.e., if the post is private), they will receive the amount in their earned balance, but they will not be notified and will not able to see the post.
After a reply is posted, if it contains a boost, you cannot edit the value of the boost given
You also cannot edit the recipients of the boost
You must delete your reply completely and post it again with the modified boost
For admins:
You can delete any reply, even if you did not post the reply
If you delete a reply containing a boost, you will be prompted to choose whether to allow the original recipient(s) to keep the points, or if you would like to return those points to you.
If you allow the recipient(s) to keep the points, the boost value will remain in their earned balance, but the reply will be deleted along with the boost
If you select return points, the value of the boost will be deducted from the recipient(s) earned balances, and added to your allowance balance
For non-admins
You can only delete your own replies
If you delete a reply containing a boost, the points will automatically be removed from the recipient(s) earned balance and returned to your giving allowance
Whatever permission setting is configured, only flows created by people who have that permission will show the option to give boosts in the reply. For example, if the permission is ‘Managers’, any flow that is created by a non-manager or non-admin will not have the option to give a boost in the reply.
Go to the ‘For which flows are users allowed to give points in replies?’ permissions.
Select the desired permission setting.
NOTE: If a flow was created by a person who originally had this permission, but then they lost that permission, their flow will no longer display the option to give boosts. Any boosts previously given will remain, but the boost icon will no longer display.
